Every single morning when I take my first step out of bed, I get this sharp, jabbing foot pain on side of foot. Most people talk about plantar fasciitis being the main cause of morning foot pain, but my heel feels totally fine—it’s definitely on the lateral edge. It usually wears off after I walk around for ten minutes, but it’s a miserable way to start the day. I’m wondering if there is such a thing as lateral plantar fasciitis or if maybe I’m just sleeping with my feet in a weird position that’s putting stress on those outer tendons. If anyone has any morning stretches or night splints they recommend for this specific location, I’d be so grateful to hear about them before I book a formal medical consultation.
